We are inviting schools already supporting Traidcraft’s activities around the country to sign up to Fairtrade cotton school uniform before Christmas! We are inviting schools to buy premium quality 50% Fairtrade cotton/50% polyester school polos, sweatshirts and hoodies for the 2012/13 school year and support Traidcraft, producers in Mauritius and ‘Tabitha’ orphanage near the factory at the same time. Each polo sold to schools through the Traidcraft/Koolskools scheme will generate 50p to be split between Traidcraft’s charity and the Tabitha orphanage in Mauritius, where the garments are made – in addition to, of course, guaranteeing fair trade benefits to cotton farmers and garment-makers. This offer is eligible to the first 100 schools to register through the ‘Traidcraft/Koolskools scheme’ and orders must be received by Monday 9th December 2011. Please visit the following link if you want to be involved in this initiative:www.traidcraftschools.co.uk/cottonuniforms.
So, a fantastic start to our northbound summer journey. The welcome at Traidcraft was especially encouraging for us. Koolskools is a relatively new member of the Fairtrade family. What a privilege to be able to team up with one of the movement’s founding fathers, to the benefit of many workers and charities in developing countries.
Next week we shall tell you all about our visit to Scotland, the second leg of our Northern tour.
